New energy efficiency scheme for south-west
A new energy efficiency scheme has been launched, in order to give householders in Somerset the chance to cut their heating bills.
The new offer from the Warm Streets initiative will help people to access loft and cavity wall insulation for free, subject to conditions.
In addition to this offer, certain consumers who sign up to the scheme could get their hands on £50 high street shopping vouchers.
Warm Streets project manager Mike McClelland said people's fuel bills could be lowered as a result of the new offer, while they could also benefit from more comfortable properties.
He stated: "Having your home insulated can save you hundreds of pounds, and there's never been a better time to get this work done."
The Centre for Sustainable Energy, Scottish and Southern Energy and various councils in the South West are behind the Warm Streets scheme, which is designed to address cold and damp properties in the Somerset region.
