Complaints down for energy firms
More customers are happy with the performance of their energy suppliers in fuelling and heating their homes, a watchdog has found.
The majority of energy companies have seen falls in the number of complaints they received between January and March this year, according to Consumer Focus, which recorded an average drop of 7%.
SSE recorded its lowest ever amount of complaints to remain top of the table, while EDF Energy sits at the bottom with a rating of zero.
Audrey Gallacher, director of energy at Consumer Focus, welcomed the fall in complaints and advised the suppliers to continue to strive for "consistently good customer service" to achieve the goal of increasing consumer trust.
She said the customers of EDF Energy will "rightly expect" to see improvements after the first quarter of the year if it is to meet its "big commitments" to improving its performance.
